Katie is not currently accepting new clients, however if you email us we can add you to a waitlist and likely get you started within a few weeks time.
Katie is able to see clients living in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador & Nunavut.
We can direct bill Green Shield, SSQ and Blue Cross (province dependent) for Katie's sessions. Many others will cover her by reimbursement. We will soon be able to direct bill more insurers for Katie's services - estimated by July 1. Please inquire to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about direct billing.
A note that our system books sessions in Atlantic time, so be mindful of this when booking with Katie. If you subscribe to your bookings calendar, your sessions should show up on your iCal, Google or Outlook at your local time.
Hi, I'm Katie!
Whether it's your first time seeking support from a counsellor/psychotherapist or not, it takes strength to reach out. I am happy to be here to help you on your healing journey.
I became a counsellor/psychotherapist with the main goal of helping others. I studied a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my interest in how the human brain works and the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours grew into a desire to pursue a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology.
I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO). I have 5 years post-degree experience working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, disordered eating, gender/sexuality, grief/loss, sexual violence and workplace/academic stress. I particularly love working with women and women-identifying individuals, as I believe in women supporting and uplifting other women, both in my personal and professional lives.
As a therapist, I firmly believe my clients need and are deserving of unconditional positive regard. I believe that everyone is capable of creating change in their lives with the proper tools and guidance. I follow a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with elements of cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT, ACT and DBT). I also have a particular interest in using creative modalities in my work. I work with clients to identify their needs and goals and create a care plan as unique as them, and strive to make my clients feel empowered, listened to and cared for.
